Closet Coat Addict

I don't know what it is about a good dress coat but I've always been drawn to them like a moth to a flame. I just love 'em! I love how you can have a rough, hurried morning...not looking your most glam, but you throw on a great vintage coat and all of the sudden you look put together. A great vintage coat (fur or no fur) should be a staple in every woman's wardrobe...they truly cover a multitude of sins...or poor time managements in the am.

Some coats I love:

October 17 Back in the Saddle!

My intentions for writing a regular blog were honest and true but funny how life can get in the way! I am rededicating myself to "A Vintage Life - The Magnolia Collection" blog so please stay tuned...and feel free to give me a swift kick if this isn't updated regularly!

I just bought wonderful hairpins from BlackCatMima on etsy! She makes the most beautiful stuff from recycled/upcycled vintage earrings! Check out her beauties here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5465674&section_id=5639913

I am always on the hunt for fabulous vintage lingerie and found some real beauties last week! Racey undies in red nylon, lace and black pleated chiffon with the original tags!

My find of the week though was not lingerie...it was a to die for floor-sweeping emerald gown with a 215" hemline and an OCTOPUS belt!

A New Page for Me!

Welcome to my first-ever blog! Since I was a child I have always loved simple, old fashioned things, people and traditions. Over the course of the last few years I have turned that passion into The Magnolia Collection a veritable cornucopia (thanks Eileen)of vintage clothing, lingerie and household goods from by-gone eras.

I am starting this blog to share the things that I love with others who also want"A Vintage Life". If clothing from the 20's through the 60's excites you; time spent reading a book, tending a garden or baking a cake seems more enticing than an afternoon in a shopping mall then I hope you will bookmark me and come back to visit...often!
